Obsidian Fridays
Fans of Obsidian Entertainment’s games owe the modding community a significant debt this year! It was awesome enough that the “cut contet” mod for Knights of the Old Republic 2 reached its final release, but now another team has gone and done essentially the same thing for Fallout: New Vegas. In a series of mods for the game, cut content is restored, a new companion is added, the Freeside area is presented as a single map (as it was meant to be)…and much, much more.
Black Isle veteran Colin McComb signed on as a writer for Wasteland 2. Previously a writer on Planescape: Torment and Fallout 2, he’s sure to add more than a dash of old-school excellence to the story of the game that Obsidian is lending some development firepower to. McComb also sat down with Eurogamer to discuss his enthusiasm for the project.
GamesIndustry, meanwhile, chatted with Brian Fargo about the game, who confirmed that Chris Avellone was also writing content for Wasteland 2. Fargo also made good on a promise and released a short sample of music that has been composed for the game. It’s worth checking out (and as a bonus, it shows off some sweet concept art):
