Larian Saturdays

There isn’t a whole lot of news pertaining to Larian Studios that I took notice of over the last week. The most outstanding piece of news is probably the theft of two PCs from the Larian booth at GamesCom, which contained early demo builds of both Divinity: Dragon Commander and Divinity: Original Sin. Larian Studios has offered a $5,000 reward for the safe return of both computers, but so far nobody has come forward. Swen Vincke, the head of Larian Studios, hopes that the theft was purely hardware-related, and that the game builds don’t find their way online.

In other news, PC Gamer published a preview of Dragon Commander; the genre-bending (“genre-mashing” might be a better term) game sounds like a lot of fun. As a bonus, Larian also let slip that the deluxe edition of the game will come with the Dragon Commander board game. Which…I can see some people being very interested by. I know I am!

That’s a shame. Were any OTHER developers computers stolen? May just be a jealous developer.
