Obsidian Fridays
South Park: The Stick of Truth has been getting a lot of (global!) media coverage of late; previews of the game have appeared at GamePlanet (New Zealand), in the Daily Mail (England), and at 1UP. And to a one, each preview heaps praise on the game and notes that it meets the standard for comedy and crassness that one would expect from South Park. The game’s more traditional RPG features also garner some praise.
In other news, Brian Fargo gave yet another interview about Wasteland 2 (in two parts, apparently), which Obsidian is of course helping to develop. As well, it was announced today that former Black Isle writer Colin McComb has joined the Wasteland 2 team.
Oh…also: a handful of Obsidian veterans have successfully funded a free-to-play, Civ-inspired game using Kickstarter. Honestly, I don’t know what to make of Steam Bandits: Outpost, but it certainly does have a pretty impressive list of people working on it.
