An Ultima 7-Inspired Model Jail
I was searching Google Images for Serpent Isle-related images this evening when I took note of a particular image in the list of results, which graces this post. Fans of Ultima 7 should recognize the wall styling instantly.
Clicking through to see the image source, I was taken to this archive of image-bearing posts at Crafster. More specifically, the archive was of image-bearing posts authored by one user in particular, who goes by the handle Arachnea. (She’s apparently from Canada; her Etsy storefront offers a number of different knitted toques for sale.)
And in this post, I found again the above image, described thusly:
Next up is a jail. This jail is inspired by a jail in the oooold DOS game Ultima VII: Black Gate that I still love playing.
And really, it is a very good rendition of that particular wall chunk from the game.
Don’t you love how people call Ultima 7 an oooold DOS game? Geez, I remember buying it the day it came out. Guess I’m oooold now, lol. This is a cool looking jail though I would not want to be inside it.
