So…you overseas Ultima fans: get yours now!
That was a crazy video. I like Paul Barnett’s assessment, as it confirmed what I’d thought and was pretty funny. He also seems pretty serious about Ultima, which is a great relief.
If I were in his position, I’d be nervous about what fans would think of an Ultima-like game I was making. I’d be happy, mostly, but wouldn’t be looking forward to the inevitable criticisms from mainstream and indie reviewers (or long time fans). I’d take comfort that I did my best though and not apologize unless real disasters occurred during distribution. I think the new Ultima game may do very well among fans.
Haha, that’s fantastic 🙂 He’s so excited about it!
That’s awesome. I’m so using part of my student loans to buy this book. I’m going for programming so this is school related… right?
@VisElEchNon: certainly close enough. If not you can always minor in Video Game History…
I got a real kick out of the video – and certainly appreciate the enthusiasm Paul has for the book, and of course Ultima in general… I’m just not sure where he got the impression I was obsessive O:)
Oh good, I was afraid the student loan SS was gonna come crashing through my door after I placed the order. Now I can sleep again. 🙂
