Jason Ely Needs A Logo (Updated)
I noticed that former Origin Systems developer Jason Ely is looking for an artist to help him develop a logo. This, presumably, is for his current game: Elderlands.
(And to be fair, the website is devoid of a fancy logo of some sort.)
Updated: Jason got in touch with me, and the logo is actually for Monkey Rump Games, the new label that replaces his former label, If-Else Software.
So in case you were wondering what sort of logo he might be looking for, behold thy inspiration. (And may I just say…for such a loaded search term, the image results are decidedly not on topic!)
I know some of you are artists, so you might consider introducing yourself on Twitter and offering your services! Or you can tell me and I can see about getting his attention, I suppose. Either way, make yourself known, make a connection with the man, and see what it is he’s looking for!
What sort of logo would you like? Single character, word, title, abstract? What is the overarching feel or theme of it? What should it convey?
I did this one for my company, which though plain seems pretty solid:

It’s “EV” for “Eight Virtues”. It also looks like the number eight, which is an added bonus. Anyway, I’m no pro but have good ideas and decent execution, so let me know. More flowery, organic logos aren’t a problem.
Clarification added.
That’s decidedly not enough info other than monkeys and ass. Damn monkeys… Maybe a crazy monkey-themed logo (icon) is needed. At least someone appears to have bought the company, which means hopefully money exchanged hands in a short-term positive way for the seller.
Just a bit of trivia: Jason Ely features in Ultima 8 as Jely in this book, which he wrote: http://gigi.nullneuron.net/ultima/u8/u8writ.php?writing=16
