Good Old Games' Christmas Sale Kicks Off!

Our friends at Good Old Games have kicked off their annual Christmastime sale: they’ve put a 50% discount on every game in their catalogue. Except, that is, for one: Empire Earth is free for the next 24ish hours, after which time it will presumably be able for only slightly more than a cup of coffee at your local Starbucks.

If you’ve been holding off getting The Complete Ultima 7, Dragons and Dragonettes, it’s on for just $2.99 USD. That’s a heck of a price, considering what it cost back when it came out!

I’d say “don’t delay”, but the sale is on until January 2nd, 2012. You’ve got a couple of weeks. On the other hand, it’s always a good time to buy games as gifts for people!

Shameless Plug: This site is a GOG affiliate, so if you want to support Aiera and hook yourself up with some great games of yesteryear, be sure to hit up one of the GOG.com links on the sidebar or in the site header before proceeding on to your regularly scheduled game shopping!

If I already have a GOG account which I have made extensive use of, would I still send a bit of money your way by using the link from your site? Or would it only be for new customers?

Though GOG’S affiliate terms kind of imply that it’s only new signups that count, my observation has been that I get credited for sales to existing accounts too. In other words, click on through, shop as you…and we’ll see what happens.

    Done and done.

Awesome. I went crazy on buying music recently, and now it’s time for games. If you get revenue when people buy through your site, I think my purchases will pretty much cover your costs. 😉

I like that picture you posted. People always complain about Ebay, but let’s face it… you can buy a complete original Ultima VII with cloth maps and the works for less than 30 bucks. Back in 1992, it cost $75.00 with tax, and with inflation it would probably cost well over $100 today.

Unless you’re buying an original Akalabeth, Ultima I, or (maybe) II, you’re still getting it cheaper than the original price.
