The Savage Empire Remake: Where It's At

Scythifuge has been posting regularly to the Facebook page for his Exult-based remake of Savage Empire.

Since last we heard from him, Scythifuge and his wife bought a house, the move into which temporarily halted work on the project. In late October, he posted a quick update saying that things had kind of resumed:

Some random artwork & tweaking has taken place. We just had our house warming party & are pretty much settled in. Hopefully I will fit some regular drawing time back into my schedule. A couple of people have offered help on the Exult forums.

In early November, he added:

Just an update to say that I am still working on things. Some plant styles have been worked on. There needs to be many plants created. I did draw a couple of Victorian era items for fun, slightly reminiscent of Martian Dreams or Arcanum…

Most recently (just last week, in fact), he posted this update:

I have drawn many sprites, though not a lot for S.E.; they are more Victorian/Steampunk sprites. It is ok, because I need to drawn a wider variety of objects to get ideas for more S.E. stuff.

I am still working sporadically on S.E., however. Agentorangeguy over on the Exult forums offered to help with some scripts. I was about to send a lamp that will be in the Avatar’s house. I drew the lamp a while ago & no longer like it. Better versions are almost ready to send over.

As I’m sure you are all aware, I love seeing cross-project collaboration, so it’s cool that Agentorangeguy is chipping in some scripting help. And it’s good to hear that the project is progressing, if only incrementally.

Additionally, congratulations to Scythifuge on the new house!

Thank you for posting the update!

Yes, sprite creation/experimentation continues. Also, in addition to Agentorangeguy, Crowley if offering artistic aide as well. While I haven’t posted anything new graphics-wise, there are new things that have been drawn.

The steampunk spriting has refreshened me a lot, as well as helping m econtinue to practice my drawing!

I have offered some Ultima VI compatible stuff to Agentorangeguy. I am going through sprites and reorganizing many of them.
