Well, the only really noteworthy question of paternity I can think of to do with Ultima is the question of who Nell’s baby father was (if you’ll excuse the absolutely atrocious terminology).
Would I be right in assuming Lord British here? If not, there are many other fathers I can think of – Christopher, father of Spark…
Okay, I can’t think of other fathers except for Christopher and Spark in the literal sense. But I’m thinking!
Interesting… Also of note is the tense you’ve chosen to use, I see. Is it important that you’ve said “Who IS the father?” as opposed to “Who WAS the father?” as would be the case if you were referring to the instances I was talking about.
Hrmm… could this be a hint as to the creator of this teased project? The “father of the product”, so to speak?
The Father is the immoral and immortal head of the Black Cloak Society. To learn more play the King’s Quest Remakes by ADGI.
But maybe you meant for an Ultima related answer? Then I suppose that the Avatar will/has “conceive(d)” the Ultimas from within the Mistvale (this feels like a game of Clue). Still not sure if they were a brain-child or from physical procreation though…or whether it was sexual or asexual procreation from the Titan of Eternity.
Each of the old Kings of Sosaria could be fathers tho, since they all had daughters imprisoned in their castles. Not sure I’d want to wish them a happy Father’s Day, however. lol
Aloron is the father of Aiela in Savage Empire…
Baron Almric is Arial’s father in Underworld..
Angus is the owner of the Sleeping Bull, and father of Argus, in the Serpent Isle.
I’m sure there are lots of other fathers in Ultima.
Well, in the Ultima context, Katrina is the adoptive mother of Constance, but I don’t know that we ever found out who her father was. Similarly, Katrina is a shepherd, so she is a mother-figure of her flock.
Outside of Ultima, Katrina could be anything from a big ass hurricane (who was a bad mother!), to random folks on the street.
Katrina would be the mother of Humility no? Which threw me a bit because I thought the father might be old Hawkwind, the Timelord. Failing that, Shamino the companion of Spirituality?
Father Antos?

Not Lord British. Not Christopher.
And not Antos.

It is also possible that I am speaking in hypotheticals, which arguably lack tense.
It is even more likely that I have committed a minor grammatical infraction.
Mondain
Not a bad guess.
But…no.
Not Nell’s silly easter egg again.
Please. 😮
I sure hope not me!
What, where, who.
Next two teasers should start with “When” and “How”.
Sergorn: Better than Nell.
Infinitron: Okay, I’ll try hold to that pattern.
And then Why?

Marq: Interesting, but the clues aren’t that directly related.
You could say that Richard Garriott is the father of Ultima.
True that!
Though that is not what I am referring to.
I see.
Why didn’t you give this one yesterday, we’re too late to wish him a nice Father’s day…providing he’s worthy of the honor…?…
This clue was posted yesterday. Late yesterday, yes — about 8:00 PM where I live — but still yesterday.
There’s nothing to prevent you all from posting such messages, even so.
The Guardian is/was referred to as the father at some point if I remember (U7/UW2?)
And there’s the gargoyle issue too…
Are we supposed to be able to reach an answer? Or will these questions only make sense once whatever we’re being teased about is revealed?
The questions may only make sense when the thing is revealed, though if I’m not careful I may give away the game too early.
I am enjoying all the speculation, though. A couple people have come close, which both surprises and awes me.
Ah, very well. Whatever kind of Dad he is, all the best to him.
nedde dester? Destermúr?
Sorry, that was for teaser #2
Not my baby!
*cue Maury dance*
Well, this one I know, I think.
Mondain stole his power from his father, I believe (the secret to the gem of immortality).
Thepal: Correct understanding of history.
Incorrect answer.
Must be Chuckles.
If it was Mondain’s father, it would be Wolfgang.

What if I added that Katrina was the mother?
The kid is not my son.

Guess I’ll have to wait til Wednesday. lol
Oooh…I forgot about Constance.
But no, it’s not her.

Closer than most, Rob!
