Forgotten World update: new coder, new screenshot
Well, things have gotten a tad interesting over at Forgotten World, and I must say that I’m more than a little intrigued by the latest addition to their team: noted Ultima parodist Chris Hopkins has signed on in the role of Pascal coder. (Some of you may remember him by his other project, Ultima 4 Part 2: Dude, Where’s my Avatar?.)
The team have also posted a new weekly screenshot, and have issued this challenge alongside it:
Firstknight’s Beautiful Britannia work has yielded some interesting additions in more than just the flora. Take a look at the screenshot for Britain and let me know (via the comments at Aiera) what you think is different.
It is an interesting screenshot, and I’m wondering about a couple of things in it myself. Whether they’re what Iceblade is getting at in his news post, I have no idea…but there are things I’ve noticed. Still, I don’t want to kill a discussion prematurely, so feel free to use the comments form below as a sounding board and discussion area in which to lodge guesses! (I’ll chime in at some point.)
This is the West Gate of Britain, which seems to be a joke in the original game, since there is no actual gate there and you can take a sideway to get past it.
There are also no walls in Britain in the original game, unlike in Ultima VII. This watch tower is actually an scaled down version of the top of Stonegate.
You can also see some trees have been put alongside the pavement and an oak tree can be seen near the cemetery.
