Sorry to be a grump, but can you try to keep the focus on Ultima here? While the first article was (much!) more nuanced and interesting than I expected, I don’t visit Aiera to follow American political/religious debate.
While I would be tempted, given my present mood, to fall back on the well-known “my site, my rules” formulation, I do grant the main point raised: this is not Ultima-related, which certainly departs from the main format and intent of the site.
At the same time, I have something of a vested interest in using Aiera to drive what traffic I can to what content I produce at Examiner.com. I would at least like to think that I provide a valuable enough service to the Ultima community that they would be willing to tolerate the occasional link to other content of mine…especially if by so doing they might, through no financial investment of their own, land a few bucks in my pocket every now and again, thus making it even slightly easier to keep this site running.
I will grant the point that Aiera shouldn’t follow the political and religious debates in any country; I don’t propose to transform it into anything of the kind. But in the interests of compromise (and in being mindful of my snappy mood at present) I propose this: I will still offer links to my articles, but will do so without explicit mention of the issues discussed therein.
Fact is: I need you guys. And I hope it’s not to much to ask, but I will ask it anyhow.
