The Dark Unknown: 2016 in Review and Map Editor Demo Video

Goldenflame Dragon has published a lengthy retrospective of the work that was done on The Dark Unknown over the course of 2016:

Hi everyone! I hope you had a good New Year and that good things come to you in the year to come. That out of the way, I felt like it was time for me to put up a Year In Review for what got done in 2016 towards the Dark Unknown. Here are some of the highlights, pulled from my commit messages. This therefore doesn’t include work done on the Almanac and the art, KS rewards, and sourcing maps/trinkets/boxes.

He breaks down work done on the project month by month, and gives a good overview of everything he was able to accomplish. If you’ve been following The Dark Unknown with some interest, you’ll also want to pay attention to next week’s Spam Spam Spam Humbug episode (which we just recorded last night); Goldenflame elaborates on some of his more significant project milestones therein.

Additionally, to kick off 2017, Goldenflame has uploaded a video of The Dark Unknown’s map editor in action. It’s embedded above; give it a watch!

I’ve actually messed around with the editor. Its kinda fun just to make stuff. I hadn’t put a lot of thought into it though. Been watching this develop over time. Hope it makes it to the end.
