The CRPG Book: Alpha Release (Just In Time for Christmas)

CRPG-Handbook-U6-Article

Just in time for Christmas, Felipe Pepe has released the alpha version of The CRPG Book, his omnibus compilation of reviews of…something like 300 or so defining CRPGs from all across the history of the genre.

Of course, the alpha version only incorporates a small subset of the total scope of the book, but…if nothing else, it features (among others) my review of Ultima 6 and Ian “Tibby” Frazier’s review of Ultima 5, as well as many of the excellent introductory sections of the book.

There are two versions of The CRPG Book’s alpha available: a dual-page version and a mobile-friendly single-page version. Grab one and check it out!

I can’t remember the last time I bought a book, but this one I’d absolutely love to own. Anyone know if there will be a print version? I know self-publishing sites generally have a “print to order” option. Despite how much time I spend staring at a screen, there’s something about the look, feel and smell of a physical book that’s intoxicating.
