GOG’s DRM-Free Summer Sale Is On Now

It isn’t quite summer yet, but that hasn’t stopped GOG from launching their 2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale. (And I’ll note that it is Father’s Day this Sunday; what dad wouldn’t love the gift of video games?)

This sale, and its winter counterpart, really is the best time to a) sign up for GOG if you haven’t already done so, and b) load up on new and classic titles for sale thereat. Pretty much every game in the GOG catalogue has been discounted by at least 50%, and they put up daily bundles of games for even steeper discounts, as well as hourly specials.

So, for example, if you’ve never tried Jade Empire, you can get it for $2.99 USD for the next 30-ish minutes. The somewhat Ultima Underworld-inspired Legend of Grimrock is available for $2.24 for about the next two hours. And, of course, the Ultima games are all on sale right now as well (currently for 50% off, but GOG will doubtless have an Ultima bundle featured at some point during the sale).

And remember: If you sign up for GOG, and/or buy any games there via the links on this site, the Ultima Codex earns a little bit of commission, all of which goes to paying for the site’s hosting.
