Check Out the Shroud of the Avatar E3 2014 Trailer
If you’ve checked out any of the recent pre-alpha test releases, there’s not much in the trailer that will strike you as new.
Still, it’s nice to hear Bill Johnson draw out the word “Avatar” over and over again.
Am I hallucinating or at around 1:54 is the player doing the coconut horse from Monty Python and the Holy Grail?
Nope, you’re not tripping. That’s a thing. April Fool’s joke that got out of hand.
Hope they keep it for the next releases.
Also, it would be nice if Bill had changed his voice by the end of the clip.
Not thinking that narration did them any favors. I’m all for nostalgia and all, but come on guys, you should be playing in the big leagues and that was cringe-worthy.
Heh, it wasn’t that bad, though perhaps the sounds of a chainsaw and screaming teenagers in the background would have improved it. The thing that struck me a bit was the pacing. Proper dramatic narration is all about emphasizing the right words and adding the right pauses. Both things were a touch off in this case. Maybe it was a one-taker.
