Shroud of the Avatar executive producer Starr Long announced, in the game’s official forums, that the development team at Portalarium have put together a Movember team, to raise money “to change the face of men’s health”.

Movember, for those of you unaware of its existence or purpose, is a global charity that raises funds and awareness to combat men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, as well as various mental health problems. Principally, it works by encouraging its participants to grow moustaches for the duration of November; family and friends are encourage to donate in support of said facial hair growth.

(And no, participation in Movember is not limited to men.)

The Portalarium team have already raised $660 at the time of this writing, making them the #8-ranked team in the US. So if you’re not too tapped out from upping your Shroud of the Avatar pledge, maybe consider throwing some money in Portalarium’s pot to help promote men’s health.
