Might & Magic X

Limbic Entertainment gave us a look at the Scout character class recently, as well as a “behind the scenes” look at dungeon creation. They also took a moment to reassure everyone that yes, they do read all feedback submitted to them.

The Deus Ex Franchise

There’s a new interview out concerning the Director’s Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution…which finally has a release date, by the way.

Of perhaps more interest, however, is the announcement that a next-gen Deus Ex title is in the works (there’s even some concept art for it). This new Deus Ex title will, in turn, be part of a larger, expanded game world called Deus Ex: Universe, which I assume will be some means of tying together, online, various Deus Ex-themed games and apps on a variety of platforms.

Irrational Games

BioShock Infinite is — or was, at least, if it isn’t now — available for just $20 on the Xbox Marketplace.

Ken Levine, meanwhile, had some interesting and positive things to say about Valve’s recently-anounced SteamOS.

EverQuest Next

EverQuest Next Landmark is still something of an enigma, although it would appear to be more than just a world-building tool. It might even be an MMO in its own right, albeit of a very different kind than EverQuest Next proper.

You can find links to see it — and EverQuest Next, for that matter — in action here.

38 Studios

The Kingdoms of Amalur IP will go up for sale (at an auction) on November 14th. The Rise of Nations IP has been bundled in with it, which is…interesting. Yeah.

In the meantime, you can check out Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for free this month if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber. I’d also recommend checking out this retrospective, which uses the House of Ballads quest line to explore Reckoning’s fascinating take on the lore of its game world.

Warhorse Studios

There’s a new entry at the Warhorse blog, in which studio head Dan Vavra discusses — in his characteristically frank style — some of the disagreements that have been raging in the studio recently, especially concerning the demo for the open world medieval RPG that they’re working on.

Thief

So…not everyone is thrilled that the new Thief’s homage to its predecessors is available as DLC.

That said, the game does look interesting.
