Hearth of Britannia: Next Dragonsmeet on October 10th at 8:00 PM EDT

As Rustic Dragon has now returned the Hearth of Britannia’s Dragonsmeets to a regular, weekly schedule, the next Meet will take place on October 10th, at 8:00 PM EDT. As per usual, keep your eyes on the Dragonsmeets page at the Hearth of Britannia website; in the days to come, it will no doubt be updated with additional information about the evening’s topics. And, of course, it’s where Rustic Dragon will post links to the Google+ hangout and YouTube livestream.

This week’s Meet should be an excellent one, as Rustic Dragon spent the weekend now past in New York City, visiting none other than Richard Garriott. I am sure he will have much to say about the trip!

You should attend, if you can, WtF. I saw you for the first time on one of the older meets. It was like hearing a radio personality for years then seeing them in person; awesome and unexpected.

Rustic’s Dragonsmeets are the most fun I’ve had in a damn long time. Even if you disregard Ultima or SotA, just being able to freely speak with intelligent people is supremely satisfying. Adding Ultima and SotA to the mix is something like Nirvana.

    Shorthand: Dragonsmeets. Fuck yeah. 🙂

That’s great news. Hopefully your Internet connection will be solid (hotel, tower, etc.). I’ve noticed Hangouts itself (Google’s servers) dip in quality occasionally, affecting all client video streams and the “archive” file that can go on YouTube. Google should shift bandwidth or CPU time on their farms in Hangouts’ favor to hopefully correct those issues.

I recently bought a new webcam and have been using my M-Audio mic for audio input and headphones for audio output. Good audio results and better (but not great) video since the upgrade.

I have a passion for cooking, which is why I think Rustic should especially be commended for catering the Lords of the Manor event. Being in a new kitchen and getting accustomed to its equipment isn’t always easy. Hell, I couldn’t find a sharp chef’s knife at my parents’ house; I had to bring one over. I watched quite a bit of the prep video (the long one), and Rustic knows what temperature to smoke large and bone-in meats at. The photos seemed indicative of laying the smacketh down on the food. The signage for the courses was awesome, as was the sealing of potion bottles. To think there are three more…
