Support Shroud of the Avatar and Extra Life, Get a Copy of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (And Some Destiny Cards)

So, those of you who’ve been frequenting the site for a while know that I’ve been a regular participant in Extra Life these past few years, both personally and as a member of an (admittedly small) team of Origin Systems fans. So far, it’s just me (but it’s not to late to join in the fun) on Vas Mani this year, and hopefully that will change as Extra Life’s November 2nd date draws near.

Those of you who’ve been frequenting the site for a while will doubtless also recall that I’m something of a huge fan of (the now defunct) Big Huge Games’ Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, an open-world fantasy RPG which featured none other than Ian “Tiberius” Frazier (of Ultima V: Lazarus fame) as its combat designer, and then as its lead designer.

And of course, I wouldn’t be running this site if I wasn’t a big fan of Richard Garriott and his creative ventures, so naturally I’m quite excited for Shroud of the Avatar as well. And were I able, I’d be taking part in the Hearth of Britannia’s Telethon of the Avatar event tomorrow, because I too want to see Shroud of the Avatar receive more funding from the online community.

As such, I’m upping the Ultima Codex’s investment in the Telethon a bit: I’m offering a copy of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning — complete with all the DLC released for it prior to the closure of Big Huge Games — to the person who pledges the most to Extra Life during the Telethon, and who also pledges at least $45 to Shroud of the Avatar.

How to Enter: Extra Life sends out confirmation emails; forward your Extra Life confirmation to Rustic Dragon (redeem@hearthofbritannia.com), in the same way that you would forward your Shroud of the Avatar confirmation in order to qualify for Hearth reward tiers. Be sure to specify, in your email, that you’re aiming for the Extra Life reward! Rustic will notify me as to who has won the prize, and the winner will receive a Steam key for Reckoning and all its add-ons.

As well, I happen to have one of the promotional Destiny card sets that Big Huge Games gave away at E3 2011. The winner will receive these, as well.
