BioWare Mondays

So, Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated for a Fall 2014 release, and the recent coverage of the game that GameInformer and other sites have been putting out suggests that there may be cause for optimism about it. The combat looks pretty solid, character customization and choice will apparently be deep and impactful, and the “send your minions on quests” sounds like an interesting addition. And of course, we can expect that companions in the game will be engaging, as has become the norm for BioWare titles.

And then there’s the scale and size of the world. Although not a true open-world title, the world will nevertheless be quite massive, composed of several large zones, and its story will span a significant chunk of the known parts of Thedas.

Speaking of GameInformer, by the way, they’re looking to put together a list of questions about Inquisition that will (hopefully!) be answered in an upcoming podcast.

PC Gamer has some new details about update 2.4 for Star Wars: The Old Republic, mostly consisting of a few images of creatures and a new planet. Massively, meanwhile, went after some misconceptions about The Old Republic’s free-to-play restrictions.

And BioWare will, of course, be at PAX Prime this coming weekend; Dragon Age will be the big focus of their presentation there.

As well, if you have time, check out this roundtable discussion between some of the top guys at BioWare and GameInformer’s Joe Juba. Interesting and insightful.
