Portalarium’s technical director, Chris Spears, posted a short note on the Shroud of the Avatar forums yesterday evening, which should come as good news to any of you who use Linux as your primary OS:

I know there are few linux guys out there. I just wanted to give you a heads up that Erik M. has the Linux version up and running on his laptop with Gentoo on it and even on a laptop it looked and ran great. Just sharing the news as I know there were a fair number of Linux people begging us not to ignore them and then port it over afterwards. You might be the minority but you will not be forgotten!
