The Digital Lycaeum: Heightmap of Britannia (Updated!)
Courtesy of Mark Mitchell, there’s a high-detail heightmap of Britannia now available at the Digital Lycaeum, the fledgling repository of resources for aspiring Ultima fan project developers to use and contribute to.
It’s a seriously gorgeous piece of work. If you have any need to 3D model Britannia in the future, grab it and make use of it…it’s smashing.
The First Age of Update: PinasterWare fed the heightmap into an editor and had a go at it:
The height scale, as they point out on their blog, is incorrect…but that does look awesome, doesn’t it?
Revenge of the Update: James Kidd also provided us with a heightmap for Britannia (including the dungeons and the Lost Lands) from Ultima Online. It has been added as a separate download to the Lycaeum.
