Bethesda Thursdays

I’m beginning to feel sorry for Tom Francis at PC Gamer…will he ever play Skyrim again after subjecting himself to the pure Illusionist playthrough?

Dishonored is winning lots of critical praise as the year draws to a close, of course. Gamasutra listed it as one of the 50 defining games of 2012, and GameInformer called it one of the best of the year. (Gamasutra also published an analysis of the game’s social and spatial realism, by the way. Heavier subject matter, but worth a read.)

Dunwall City Trials, the first DLC for Dishonored, continues to win praise. Granted, not every review is glowing, but in general the consensus seems to be that it’s a worthwhile add-on for the price.

The game’s lead designer, Harvey Smith, really likes Far Cry 2, by the way. That is relevant to nothing, of course, but there it is.

There was some Q&A about The Elder Scrolls Online released a while back, and the insect-like Dreugh species was publicized earlier in the week.

Finally, work proceeds on OpenMW. Zini, from the Titans of Ether, is still hard at work on the OpenMW editor.
