Another update for Torchlight 2 has been released on Steam. Gripping news to begin with, no? Actually, in this case, it sort of is, because it’s a fairly significant update that adds a handful of new features to the game.

Wizards of the Coast has approved Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for release. Which I would have thought would’ve been something Overhaul Games would have secured earlier, but…whatever. It means the game is (still) coming out, and that’s probably all we need bother ourselves about.

Sony, it seems, originally wanted Overhaul to develop the game for PSN, but that obviously fell through. What didn’t fall through, however, was the fan-enabled localization of Baldur’s Gate, which saw roughly a million lines of dialogue translated into a variety of languages…by, again, fans of the game. Very cool, that.

Overhaul are actually already working on Baldur’s Gate 2, by the way. And Icewind Dale may still be a possibility, albeit at a later date.

Irrational Games, meanwhile, are looking for an AI programmer and a senior gameplay programmer.

CBS Films is evidently making a Deus Ex live-action movie, and recently announced that Scott Derrickson will be directing it. His previous works include Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. And the fan-developed HD texture mod for Deus Ex also got released recently.

Be sure to check out this Epic Mickey 2 trailer; it looks like Warren Spector is still having tons of fun with the mouse and the rabbit. Spector also has a few opinions on how to make a better Marvel game. (You know…now that Disney owns Marvel Studios, at least, I suppose the idea of a Spector-directed Marvel-themed game can’t be written off as an impossibility.)

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is coming to PSN at some point this month. FYI.

Oh, and: Hero-U, the Quest for Glory-inspired game that the Lori Ann and Corey Cole were Kickstarting just barely managed to reach its funding goal, which is awesome.
