More Ultima MineCraft Textures Updated

Zeph sent me an email to let me know that he recently updated his Ultima-themed texture pack for MineCraft to version 1.6b, which adds support for the latest version (1.6.6) of the smash hit indie game.

He also includes a screenshot, which he asserts is “the most Ultima room” he has “ever built”:

Note the Richard Garriott picture...

The updated texture pack is now available for download via the project entry here at Aiera.

Love the tapestry of Garriott. One of my favorite photos of him.

I saw 2 texture packs but not even one skin for players 🙁

  3. Texture packs get made for 2 reasons. They’re easy, and highly visible (how often does the average Minecrafter look at themselves?) You’ll probably see more character skins when NPCs make their way in. Once they’re in our face, we’ll be more likely to work with them. I personally haven’t even touched the mobs yet. Mostly because I’m not sure how to make a block pig look like an Ultima 6 block pig…come to think of it, I don’t even think Britannia has pigs, does it?

  4. A world without bacon. They still have beef jerky luckily, but wow…no bacon. Those poor people.

A world without bacon is no world at all. It must be added to Ultima.

  6. No need to assert that it is the “Ultima room” as it sure looks like it is, indeed! Need it be explained why it is the smash hit kind of indie game given such visuals?
