In a nutshell, Prey is an open-source anti-theft solution for your Windows, Mac, or Linux PC (or Android device) that lets you retain a measure of control over your device and data even if someone else absconds with it.

Runic Games won’t be charging a subscription fee for their Torchlight MMO

Which presumably means that the Torchlight MMO will be a microtransaction-driven free-to-play game instead.

Which is, admittedly, a system I could see working in Torchlight’s case; Runic could give players the option of either spending hours grinding in the (admittedly quite fun) dungeons in order to find loot, or of paying a small charge (the iTunes $0.99-for-almost-everything model comes to mind here) to buy an item that’s further up the loot scale.
