Another week, another Forgotten World update

I really quite like the regular news-posting tempo that Team Forgotten World have gotten into…and not just because it means I have at least one thing in a week that is for-sure project related. Posting other news is swell and all, but it’s nice when the news to be reported is about one of the things that gave the site its start.

With that in mind, the latest news from the fellas at Forgotten World brings news of another screenshot and, for the second straight week, another new team member:

…in keeping with trends, we have another awesome screen to show you. It is actually an old screen released internally a few years back that I think really showcases the potential of importing new textures into the game.

Now in other news, we have another new member to our team: Mario Brito (HCl) from the Wing Commander community. He is going to help us with dll patching of the game.

I like it when fans of different Origin franchises can come together like that. Good show!

Do be sure to check out the latest screenshot; it’s an older picture, but it showcases come of the potential of Beautiful Britannia‘s high-res texturing efforts.

Oh, and for those of you who voted in the recent Forgotten World “what bug shall we fix next?” poll:

…the winner of the poll was the addition of Mariah and Jaana in their respective towns after the shrine cleansing, which we are well on our way to accomplishing if you’ve been following the Awesome Screens. Runners up are the failed slaying of the demons in Valoria and the Moonglow Catacomb lift bug.

It’s also nice to see the Companions getting some love.

Let me add the War Bow of Blood not appearing, being unable to return Jordan’s journal, Being unable to give Dayla her doll, Sir Robin never appearing, Commander Hayes never appearing, and Molly flying off into the sky as more bugs that I ran into this recent playthrough of Ultima IX I’d love to see fixed. 🙂

Oops forgot to mention that we are still very much in need of a dedicated c++ programmer.
