The Ultima Codex was launched in early 2012, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Ultima Underworld. Its predecessor was Ultima Aiera, which was created for the purpose of mirroring the content of Ultima: The Reconstruction, Voyager Dragon’s repository and directory of Ultima fan projects and their released files. And in months where there wasn’t a huge wealth of Ultima fan project news to report, Aiera reported on news about former Origin personalities, noted mentions of Ultima in the gaming press, and featured all sorts of delightful content from the extensive archives of Joe Garrity’s Origin Museum.

The Ultima Codex is, ultimately, intended to serve as a unified portal for Ultima and Ultima Online-related content. It is also a major online hub of the Ultima fan community, and also serves as the home to Spam Spam Spam Humbug — a wildly successful gaming and game design podcast.
