Ever Wondered How the Various AI Models Would Answer the Virtue Questions?
Opinions about AI are starkly divided in the Ultima fandom, and in society in general. Regardless of where you personally fall in this debate, hopefully you’ll at least be mildly amused at The Grey Wanderer’s attempts — from 2024 and 2026 — to ask the classic Virtue questions from the games to a few of the more prominent AI models, in an effort to determine what character class each one might slot into.
First up…ChatGPT is apparently a Shepherd.

Gemini, meanwhile, is stuck between Shepherd and Bard (though it mistakes the Bard for a healer).

Grok, notably, flipped from year to year; it went from a Bard to a Mage.

Meanwhile, Copilot — which is, as far as I understand things, still based on ChatGPT — is also a Bard. But The Grey Wanderer notes that in last year’s test, it also hallucinated a new virtue: Trust.

Finally, there’s Claude, which — in an amusing departure — ended up as a Tinker. Claude wasn’t tested in 2024, so The Grey Wanderer included its 2026 results in a summary table:

I’m almost tempted to test Perplexity, which is my go-to AI these days, but…well, who has the time?
