Moonring, by Fluttermind, was released in 2023. The lead developer previously worked on the Fable games, and Moonring is very much a love letter to retro RPGs…especially the early Ultima games.

Earlier this month, Fluttermind announced (on the official Moonring Discord server) that Nintendo had approved Moonring DX for release on the Switch, and according to the Nintendo website it will be available as of November 20th for just $20 USD.

If you’ve not played Moonring, the DX version is the best way to experience the game; it has all the updates and gameplay refinements that have been made to the game since its release two years ago. It is also the last version of Moonring that will be released; Fluttermind will be shifting gears to focus exclusively on Moonring 2‘s development from now on.
