Ideal Dragon has been hard at work on Ultima 8: Exult, an Exult-based remake of — what else? — Ultima 8, and has lately been teasing work-in-progress images of the Palace of the Tempest in the project’s channel on the Ultima Dragons Discord server. You can see one of them above; here is the second (along with the same scene as it appears in Ultima 8):

Ideal cautions that these images don’t yet feature the complete set of planned art assets; some of the textures and objects are placeholders for the time being. Even so, they give a good sense of both the scale and faithfulness of the re-creation of Ultima 8’s world that Ideal and his team are aiming for.
