Andrea Contato’s “Video Games” Book Reaches Funding Goal

Author Andrea Contato’s new book — Video Games: The People, Games, and Companies — has reached its funding goal on Kickstarter this morning, with just a few days to go. As such, to give the campaign a little push, Contato has announced a couple bits of bonus content that current backers can expect to receive (at certain pledge tiers, at least):

Thanks to your suggestions we started working on a C64 port of The Sumerian Game. It works and we are now figuring out how to design a new starting screen, different from Apple II editions.

To celebrate the achievement of the goal, we are preparing a bookmark with the artwork designed by Franco Brambilla. It will be gifted to every backer of the physical book. So, if you like to get it but you pledged for the ebook, please consider upgrading.

There are also a few stretch goals for the project, now that it has reached its base funding goal:

If we surpass our funding goal, any additional funding will allow us to invest right back into the project with the stretch goals below.

  • 15.000€ – A bookmark with the artwork of Franco Brambilla to say “Thank you” for supporting this project;
  • 17.000€ – A coaster with Video Games logo;
  • 19.000€ – A personalized pen with Video Games logo;
  • 21.000€ – Two cardboard prints with Franco Brambilla and Paul Stinson artworks;
  • 24.000€ – A patch with Video Games logo.

You can support Video Games on Kickstarter until December 15th!
