OpenArthurianX6: Version 0.7 Released; New Features Added
Slashing Dragon has been hard at work on OpenArthurianX6, his Ultima 6-like game engine, and in fact posted another milestone release of the project — version 0.7 — a couple of weeks ago (which fact he celebrates in this YouTube video):
You can also try an online demo of the project at the Slashware website.
Since then, Slash’s YouTube channel has seen a flurry of updates as he continues adding features to the OpenArthurian engine; there are videos detailing the addition of musical instruments, item containers (and support for opening multiple containers, as well as preventing container duplication), barrels (including allowing these to be opened from inside the player’s inventory), and scrollable inventories. Most recently (as of this writing), Slash has been working on character inventories (there are two videos about that), and making items usable via a double-click.
Again, this is all development that has been done since the last milestone release of the project. Slashing Dragon, in case you weren’t familiar with his development style prior to now, works at a truly fevered pace.
I love seeing updates on this. It looks so promising.
I agree. It is a beautiful thing. Seems to be moving along at a nice clip recently too.
