Shroud of the Avatar – Update of the Avatar #345 – #348
Greetings Friends! After reading feedback, since news has slowed down for Shroud of the Avatar, posts will be less often. However should there be any every important news, I will make sure to do a news posting at that time. No news on the Blade of the Avatar book, the yearly SEC filing, or future episodes. However, in today’s post we do have the following two updates:
- Release 69
- September Login Reward
Release 69
Release 69 successfully launched August 29, with such changes and updates as:
- Season Return of the Aether Creatures
- Despair (New High Tier Dungeon)
- Polar Mutilator Bear
- Ferocious Warp Spider
- Combat Balance
- Performance Improvements
For Release 69, there wasn’t many bits of news in the release instructions that stood out to me. We do have the return of some seasonal content (The Aether Creatures). The free attack underwent some balances changes as well. Lastly, the rest the storing of the maps that were online only to be stored locally. Doing this should reduce load times, latency, and stability issues that I have seen brought up in the past.
September Login reward
Starr Long announced that the September Login Reward was a Dragon Statue with Flame. Picture is below. If you so choose to want to acquire this, just log into the game sometime this month.
Great, more high tier content for the 2% of people still playing this game. Weren’t we supposed to have an Episode 2 by now? What is happening with the development of that? I heard that Lord British and Sannio are working on the quests/story but until I actually see something, I’m not convinced. Portalarium has way too long of a, “Say anything!” track record for me to take them at their word anymore.
Episode 2 was not supposed to be out yet. When announced, they stated they wanted it out by the end of this year, but content would be realeased as it’s worked on. Player Made Dungeons introduction was the beginning of Episode 2’s content.
Episode 2 lands, which we have been shown on the map image they have been using now, were supposed to be out for a while now. Story content is what I am treating as Episode 2. Secondary systems that are being implemented to encourage revenue via add-on store purchases simply aren’t what many backers are thinking of when they think of the future episodes.

Episode 2 isn’t coming. These inconsequential tweaks will be the norm until Spears finds another job, at which time the bottom will completely drop out of this game and this company.
