Inspired by this episode of a podcast called Catholic Bytes, WtF Dragon takes a look at the idea of giving things up for Lent — and at the plans and goals he has set up for himself in general — and reflects on the fact that it’s very easy to let pride infect this aspect of our lives. Whether we’re trying to find that just right penance for Lent, whether we’re trying to organize our lives just so, or whether we’re trying to record a podcast in a certain way…it’s very easy to let pride cloud our view.

And sometimes, what happens isn’t what we’ve planned for, isn’t what we thought we wanted to take place. Plans go awry, Lenten penances prove a struggle…and we are humbled.
