There wasn’t really a set topic this week, so we devoted a bit of time to discussing the Ultima Dragons’ 25th Anniversary Bash, which took place at Disneyland over the weekend. Based on the photos and videos that were posted online, it seems like it was a very good time indeed.

We also discussed a remake of Metroid 2 that was shuttered by Nintendo, and how it’s kind of nice that Electronic Arts takes a very relaxed view of the fan remake communities that surround some of its properties (Ultima included). We also talk about the Nintendo Switch (recent previews of it, and some issues that have come to light), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s inspirations and callbacks to its predecessors, video game piracy, and Mass Effect: Andromeda (for which there have been a few previews published recently). This last topic then propels us into a lengthy discussion of travel to Mars, space colonies, and generational ships.
