For The King: Fahrul’s Underworld (On Dungeoneering)

IronOak Games have posted another update to the For The King website, this one focusing on the underworld of Fahrul (the setting of the game):

The underworld is where the true challenges in FTK lie and it will separate the brave from the timid. These subterranean pits of despair feature only the most vile encounters, from terrible traps to demons summoned from alternate realms of existence. In Fahrul there is never risk without the reward as the most powerful items and lucrative rewards await below. The dungeons will constantly tempt the player further and further down, and each stairwell encountered will represent the difficulty increasing.

If the undead or spiked traps can’t stop you, something as simple as a locked door might. You must always be stocked up on adventuring supplies when you go dungeoning because the obstacles come in many forms. If you forget your lockpicks you will need to return to daylight and come back at another time when you are more prepared.

Might I just suggest that there’s a certain hint of Ultima about this? Foolish indeed was the Avatar that journeyed into the depths of Britannia without adequate supplies!
