Crowley has been working on a small mod for Ultima 7 — well, really, for Exult — that began as an effort to add the character of Beh Lem (of Ultima 6 fame) added into The Black Gate.

Actually, he’s been working on it for years now; the project began in late 2009, and he has been updating its thread at the Exult forums bit by bit as he finds time to work on it. And I’m only reporting on it now, so…egg on my face there.

As the screenshot above indicates, however, the mod has grown beyond its original purpose. Crowley decided at some point to add another feature of Ultima 6 — the ruins of Blackthorn’s Castle — to the island of Terfin, the home of the Gargoyles in Ultima 7.

As yet, it does not appear that Crowley has released any downloads of his mod. I have, however, set up a project entry for it.
