The Ultima 6 Remake Has a Facebook Page Now
If you follow either The Ultima 6 Remake project site or the Exult forums, this will come as old news. For those of you who don’t frequent either place, however, you’ll be happy to hear that The Ultima 6 Remake team have just launched a Facebook page. They’ll be using it to post “updates-between-the-updates”, short summaries of progress made to fill in the gaps between their major website updates.
Like this little tidbit, for example:
Been working on Britain here and there, fine tuning the map and other things. Crowley is fixing some grave sprites for me that are fully functional for use with the shovel as they were in the original. The shovel is now useable on any “grave shape” and currently working on it being useable in some dungeons as in the original, where you’d randomly dig up a gold nugget or gem.
That was one of the neater — and more subtle — features of Ultima 6, really. If you had a shovel, randomly digging around in various places could prove quite rewarding.
Meanwhile, on the main project website, Zygon Dragon has decided to show off the remake’s title screen:
…Yes, that picture is indeed our title screen…the issue has been resolved, thanks to the offered help of Zacros! The title screen problem had been nagging us so long that I had stopped concentrating on a demo but just fixing other issues with coding that I could resolve. So now, I’m trying to get something together once more. At the very least, I’ll put in Britain and maybe another town that I have complete for the most part. The intro will be included even though it is a “working rough draft” of it and not completely polished yet. What you will see should give you an idea of how the intro will function. Until then, take a moment to bask in the awesomeness of the new title screen.
Hopefully, we’ll see that demo soon; I’m keen to explore this re-creation of Ultima 6.
