Exult: Teleport Cheat Fully Implemented

Dominus left a comment on the recent post about his efforts to restore Ultima 7’s teleport cheat functionality in Exult, announcing that the implementation of the cheat has now been completed…with a bonus feature, even:

…the teleport cheat screen is now finished with all of the options working. As I’m really really not a programmer I’m actually a bit proud of myself. BUT I did need help from wjp of our team or I’d be stuck a couple of times.

Especially the geographic teleporter is quite useful – the original didn’t have that

And during the course of testing his work, he discovered something interesting about how The Black Gate and Serpent Isle handle in-game coordinates:

Curios thing I noticed while working on the teleport cheat screen for Exult:

Geographic 0°/0° in The Black Gate is where the throne of LB is. (you could guess that with the map if you look closely).

When you look at the Serpent Isle cloth map you see that 0°/0° is in Fawn which is kind of an okish location. BUT… in the game the *actual* 0°/0° is somewhere in the frozen north close to the entrance of Skullcrusher. This is likely caused by the teleport storm map trick they do in the beginning.

I’m just curios, I can’t possibly be the first to notice that, right?

(btw. it’s not a problem of Exult, the original shows the same coordinates in SI)

Did anyone else ever take note of that?
