Ananias 1.29 Released; Premium Version Planning Underway

Slashing Dragon has released version 1.29 of Ananias, his browser-based roguelike for mobile devices.

The major change in this version is a substantial overhaul of the game’s UI. The font used on the interface has been changed, and a new map scroll feature has been added (read: an automap). The UI is also wider and taller, and so should render a bit better on modern smartphones.

As well, players can now switch items with those laying on the floor in the game’s dungeons. Inventory capacity has also been increased to ten items.

And hey…this is a good milestone:

We have hit 5000+ downloads on Google Play, yay!

As well, Slashing has begun planning for the premium version of Ananias, which was one of his crowdfunding goals. At present, he’s trying to plan out features that the premium version should include, and has come up with a few possibilities (including online savegames, leaderboards, and other community-oriented features).

Of course, he’ll also have to develop a dedicated server for Ananias in order to support much of what he currently has planned.
