Divinity: Original Sin Release Delayed (Slightly)

So…I haven’t updated this blog in a while. The last Original Sin mention here concerned the alpha release of said game, and now we’re at the point where its actual release is imminent. Albeit that release has been delayed by about ten days; it was originally set to come out on June 20th, but because Larian Studios has decided to add more voice acting to the game, they need a bit more time to work on it.

Oh, and hey…here’s a soundtrack sample:

I have to admit: my enthusiasm for Original Sin has waned somewhat, ever since we switched Ultima Return from Neverwinter Nights 2 over to the Unity engine. Abandoning NWN2 was in the cards for that project, but for a while the possibility of migrating to Original Sin (which, you’ll all recall, should ship with a robust toolkit) was…well…a possibility. But since we’ve made our choice now, and since that choice has not been to use Original Sin’s toolkit and engine, I can’t quite justify wanting to spend as much time with Original Sin as I might have otherwise done.

Not, mind you, that I’m not looking forward to playing the game. Especially if I can get my wife on board with it.
