There’s A New Programmer Working on Shroud of the Avatar
So it would seem, based on the last few Standup Corner posts in the Developer+ area of the Shroud of the Avatar forums, that another programmer has joined the team at Portalarium.
Zack Sheppard is, according to his LinkedIn profile at least, a programmer; he has worked in that role at a number of different companies, of which Portalarium is the most recent. And indeed, on his blog, he talks about programming and game development a fair bit; it’s probably his main topic, in fact.
However, digging around a bit more, we find that his online portfolio speaks of passions and interests that go beyond code and comments. He also enjoys creating and remixing music, and his SoundCloud profile is full of tracks that he has either composed or reworked. Here, for example, are the various pieces he has composed for video games he has worked on:
At any rate, it’s good to know that Portalarium have another coder in the mix now.
Smart move. If there was a bottleneck there, it’s been alleviated. Art assets and grand ideas are nice, but it’s the programmers that do the dirty work and actually make the game happen.
