Shroud of the Avatar: Yet Another Map Piece, And I Go On a Labeling Spree
It being Friday, there was (of course) yet another map piece revealed in the Update of the Avatar posted to the Shroud of the Avatar website:
Yet again, we are treated to the revelation of a geographical feature that bears the name of an old Companion of the Avatar…in this case the mage Mariah, whose name graces a mountain range:
Okay, granted, the piece this week doesn’t completely reveal the name of the Mariah Mountains; it just confirms the name of the river Fogladden and introduces us to the town of Vertas. However, thanks to a handy screengrab that the SotAwiki folks were able to make during one Pen of the Avatar session or another, and with some additional confirmation from the Blade of the Avatar chapters released thus far, I went on a bit of a naming spree this week and filled in the name of a bunch of map features, the Mariah Mountains being but one of these. Others include the Pillars of Night, the Forsaken Vale (which I guess is the name of the region in which the Pillars of Night are situated), and Longfall (another regional name, I think).
