OpenMW: Version 0.29 Nearly Here
Because the OpenMW project tracks closely with — and shares team members with — Ultima IX: Redemption, I’ve decided to follow news for it. I think I said that the last time I posted about the project, but just in case anyone missed that…now you know. The rest of the story. As if Paul Harvey himself had come. And explained it to you. In more sentences than were required.
At any rate, as the title notes, version 0.29 of OpenMW is nearly here, thanks in large part to some tremendous work by the Titans’ of Ether’s Zini. I gather that he more or less single-handedly built a navigation system from the ground up, and also added the ability to change camera orientation to the rendering panel in OpenCS, the scripting interface for OpenMW.
The rest of the team have also been busy:
area revealed some imperfections? This seems suspicious enough that, just in case, I’ll not pry further into this matter.
I similarly prefer to avoid mistreatment of poor Pvdk who, with determination rivaling that of mythical heroes, strives to handle all possible installation media of Morrowind. This group includes CDs from magazines and every known boxed edition – each of which may differ slightly in the packaging of their files.
Cc9cii (contrary to appearances, this is not the Borg designation, only the nickname of one of our developers) submitted a number of patches which will help us reach v0.29.0.
The team have also been doing some unit testing recently.
