Isaac Oster Leaving Portalarium
There was a rather surprising bit of news included in the Standup Corner thread on the Shroud of the Avatar forums, in which the daily activities of the Portalarium team are reported to the community:
Isaac Oster (ioster)- Male Merchant Wearables, Last day with Portalarium – good luck, Isaac! It’s been great having you with us!
This would be the artist responsible for, among other things, the female Avatar.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s taken on work as a contract character artist at Certain Affinity; he was a contractor at Portalarium as well.
So there’s an opportunity? Muwhahahaaa, (cough). Everything abhors a vacuum; the dead space must be filled. ‘Tis a shame!
In all seriousness though, I didn’t know they were using contracted hires and not bringing them on board after their contracts expired (as irregular contributors or otherwise). Impersonal, remote contracts, perhaps, but was this guy “in-office”? Maybe he wasn’t “down” with Ultima like the few crazies amongst us are. Maybe he heard about the child killing and thought those jokes weren’t funny. He probably didn’t get the screaming in space either. I’m kidding, of course.
