Exciting news from Larian Studios: the alpha release of Divinity: Original Sin, which is open to everyone who backed the game during its Kickstarter campaign, went live on Steam today.

You’ll need to have set up a Larian Vault account and connected your Kickstarter profile thereto in order to claim your alpha code.

I only took a few minutes to wander around the alpha’s opening area. There’s definitely some rough edges that need further polish, but you’d expect to find those in an alpha build. The gameplay isn’t quite smooth, but you certainly get a feel for the world, the story, and the combat in the game. I’m looking forward to exploring Original Sin more in the days to come…and if I’m really lucky, I might even find time to do a Hangout about it.
