A brief note on the Ultima Online website informs us that the Lake Superior shard had some issues this morning:

We are bringing down Lake Superior at 10:30 am EDT this morning for a force maintanence. This should fix the issue of the shard not preforming its daily scheduled maintenance. It should be down no longer than 30 minutes.

Given the lack of any follow-on updates, it would appear that everything went smoothly.
