Ultima Forever: Massive New Update, Version 1.5.4.7, Goes Live
Mythic have announced, on the Ultima Forever forums and Facebook page, that version 1.5.4.7 of the game is now live on the iOS App Store:
Game Update #1 goes live today, finally!
In addition to the overall Content update that makes up the “meat and potatoes” of this update, there is also code being implemented that will hopefully address the patching issue for the folks who’ve been unable to patch in recent weeks.
One of the more significant changes in this update is the addition of female Fighters:
Fighters now have a full complement of options: 10 male and 10 female looks! We had to delay our female Fighter past launch slightly, but we hope you find her worth the wait. And don’t worry, we’ve even added in a free way to edit your existing class and change their look, for free! At the character select screen, there is an Edit button beneath your character portrait. This will allow players to change both their portrait, as well as the in-game avatar.
And here are a couple of shots of the female fighter:
Another big change in this update concerns inventory items. Previously, the only option that existed for reducing the number of items in one’s inventory was to destroy individual items. This update adds another option: item donation:
Instead of deleting old or unwanted items, players can now convert them into donations that can be turned in to the local Friar in any town. Donations will grant players a bit of virtue, as well as reputation for the town to which they donate.
Here’s some screenshots of how the donation process works:
I’ve been testing donations for a while, and the experience (sorry…Virtue) gain is pretty decent. I gained about half a level’s worth of Virtue just by clearing out useless items from my inventory.
Other changes in this update include GameCenter support, boost card sorting, the option to skip cutscenes, reputation rewards, and much more. Additionally, some new dungeons — like the Bog Spire here — have been added to the game:
Numerous other changes, and many bug fixes, have also been made in this update; head on over to the Ultima Forever forums for all the details!
And then head to the iOS App Store to grab the update.
