Sojourner Avatars: A Tracy Hickman and Richard Garriott Hangout, Tonight!
If you’ve been following Tracy Hickman’s Sojourner Tales Kickstarter campaign at all, you’ll have taken note of this recent update thereto, which announces a very special Google+ hangout that is taking place this evening:
As many of you know, I am privileged to have been named the Lead Story Designer on Shroud of the Avatar which means that I get to work with Richard and his team regularly in designing the story and history behind the upcoming game.
We have a very special hangout planned with them this evening. Please come join us at this event, get your questions answered and learn about our thoughts on creating a set of adventures for Sojourner Tales based on the ‘Shroud of the Avatar’ setting and legends. As with each of our hangouts, check on our Sojourner Hangouts page for different links available to you for enjoying and participating in this event.
One of the things Richard and I have previously created together was the first science fiction movie actually made in space, Apogee of Fear. It was filmed almost entirely in orbit while Richard was aboard the International Space Station and features Astronauts Michael Fincke and Greg Chamitoff with Cosmonaut Yuri Lonchakov.
Lord British has also been added as a stretch goal to the Kickstarter campaign, in a way: should the project reach $55,000 in funds within the next 52 or so hours, three story modules set in the world of Shroud of the Avatar will be added to Sojourner Tales.
At any rate, if you’d like to see these two men talk about…well, I would assume a great many things…and if you’d like the opportunity to possibly engage with them in conversation, consider joining the hangout in a few hours’ time.
Pretty cool. I watched the beginning of the Hangout and skipped through the rest. I didn’t see anyone join on cam other than the initial group. Not good if they were looking for a Q&A session. Evidence (I watched it after it ended) suggests there was an open chat that could be read, but a shame they didn’t let anyone speak with them more personally. At the very least it would have been more entertaining and interesting to those who missed it.
